Driving Test
​
There are two kinds of Driving Test, they are
a) Written Test (also known as Part A), and
b) Road Test (Part B and Part C)
​
Road Test is further divide into two parts known as Part B and Part C. If both parts are included in a test schedule, it is known as Combine Test Schedule, otherwise Part B Test Schedule and Part C Test Schedule respectively.
​
Normally, one after passed the Written Test, Transport Department will issue the applicant the initial Road Test Combine Test Schedule. Tentatively, as at late October 2021, any new test schedule waiting time is about 8+ months for Combine Test, 7+ months for Part C Test and about 2+ months for Part B Test. Clearly, all these waiting time are for reference purpose only. It subject to change by the actual demand from time to time.

Tests Scope of Part A/ B/ C/ Combine
Part A
It test on the Road Signs, Road Marking, Traffic Light knowledge, Use of Seat Belt, Use of Expressway, Traffic Ordinance, Rules and Regulation on driving etc.

After applied the Written Test Appointment, Transport Department will issue the applicant the Road User Code Booklet for study.
​
To prepare one to work with the study of the Road User Code from Transport Department after successfully applied the Written Test Appointment, a 281 simple multiple choice exercise with answer at bottom of each page is available for one to practice and review. The scope of this simple multiple choice exercise include:

The exercise booklet is a supplementary exercise on the Road User Code from Transport Department.
Recommend users be by heart to study all the sections in the exercise booklet plus of course Chapter 5,6 8, 9, 10 by heart then the rest of the chapters in the Road User Code.

Part B
It test on three driving process such as
a) Three Points Turn ( also known as Narrow Road Turn Around),
b) Parking, and
c) Hill side stop and start
​
Part C
It test one driving under the live environment, that is to test all aspects of driving skill one have to perform, driving awareness, curtesy and follow road sign, road marking plus rules and regulations on driving.

Combine Test
Test scope include Part B and Part C respectively.

Requirement on Application
Document Needed include:
a) Identification of applicant
It could be Hong Kong Identification Card or Passport the applicant holding.
b) Address proof of the applicant
​
It could be the less than three months old Direct Address Proof of the applicant
It could be the applicant's own bank/ insurance statement or bill from utility companies such as mobile phone, gas, water, rate, electricity etc
​
If the applicant does not have his or her own address proof, then following documents are needed:
1) the current valid 4 pages employment contract, and
2) Less than three months old (from issue date and relevant to current date is not exceed the three months period) Direct Address Proof of the employer is needed.
​
It could be a bill from the utility companies such as water, gas, rate, electricity, telephone or a bank/ insurance statement etc.
​
Cost on Application
​
At the moment the cost is $610 (includes $510 Transport Department Driving test application fee and $100 ZDIG handling charge) for all Driving Test (Part A, Part B, Part C and Combine Test) Test Schedule/ Appointment application.

Settlement of the $610 payment
